Canada Trip 2014

 Time for Canada!  I just love this time of the year.  My chance to go and smell the fresh mountain air and gorge on ice cream and ketchup chips.  Devin had just started his new job in Boise so he wasn't able to come.  My dad was brave enough to help me drive up with the girls.  We stopped at this cute school house in Del, Montana for lunch then my favorite antique shop in Dillon.  The drive was beautiful but took for-ev-ver.  And of course the girls completely lost it in the last 20 minutes.  Why does that always happen? 

First up, the extended Palmer reunion.  It's fun to see my kids playing with their 3rd cousins. 

The next week was PalmerGal week at the cabin.  They paved this beautiful bike path out to the park entrance.  Eva rode her Razor scooter almost the entire way.  It was crazy.  (abt 7miles round-trip.)

We hiked up the Bear's Hump.  This is Eva and Sophie's favorite hike.  It's a bit steep but only 1Km and it has a killer view a the top.  They love finding the cabin down below. 

 

 

Cameron Lake was beautiful this year.  We took the canoe up and then coasted the bikes down.  Sophie didn't go on the canoe but had fun in her own little world with her pony in the sand. 

 

 

 

We got hit with a hail storm on the way home.  Eva was a little happy about it. 

 

 

Julie taught Eva to ride a two-wheeler.  She spent the next two weeks stealing bikes from the Pollock cabin and riding around the town site. 

This year we discovered the giant slip-n-slide in Magrath.  I'm sure we'll be adding it to our yearly ritual. 

I love this sassy-pants look Sophie is giving me.  It pretty much sums up her year of being 3!  Stubborn as all get-out.  Can you see that look of determination in those eyes?  This wild hair suits her well, don't you think?

We love being at the cabin with our cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents!  My dad has been amazing at keeping the old boat running so we can have these fun trips out on the lake. 

This year Eva stayed for an extra week with my parents, Gracie and Ryan.  She had a great time and didn't get homesick at all.  She made a ton of cash on lemonade stands and spent most of it on Pat's candy and ice cream.  And she came home with quite the rock collection!  She said she would rather go to Waterton than Disneyland.  It's fun to watch her fall in love with Waterton the same way I did as a little girl.  I'm happy they will have so many memories there as well.
