It's not every day that I take real pictures of my kids. And by not every day I mean never. This is the first time I've had enough courage to take them out and do and actually photo shoot with them. Eva and Sophie do not sit still for the camera. So I took an entire box full of toys, props and treats to keep them entertained. I'm so happy I did. So in celebration of Eva turning 5 and Sophie turning 3 I wanted to write a few things about them right now.
So far Eva is thriving being five. She loves her "pre k" class (don't call it preschool!) She is learning how to read and spell as well as all sorts of other things like money, odd and even numbers and how to tell time. She always asks about new vocabulary words she hears and loves to try them out. "Nonsense!" She also has a fairly good grasp of Southern and English accents. She can remember lyrics to music very quickly and loves to dance around the room and sing in her hand-me-down mp3 player. She loves to play with dolls, legos and her neighborhood crew. She is very receptive to corrections and reminds me when I am angry to ask in a nice voice. "I would if you would just listen to me!!!!" She loves to draw. She colors in her notebook all day long. And she is still quite the little snuggle bunny.
Sophie is a total ham. A rascally ham. She is super funny. It is kind of hard to explain. But I have had multiple people tell me how funny they think she is. In fact, that's about the first thing people say when they are around her for more than 5 minutes. She just does crazy, goofy, funny things all the time. She has this stuffed animal dog. Doggie. Doggie has taken on a life of his own. He talks and Sophie's always having conversations with him. One time at dinner someone was saying the prayer and I heard Doggie mumbling a prayer under his breath. "rear Reavenly Rather. Rank Roo for ris rood...." When I lay Sophie down for her naps I hear her and Doggie up there cackling and laughing for about 30 minutes before she falls asleep. It's really funny and sort of strange at the same time. haha. Sophie is super creative with her make-believe play. She has a bunch of princess dolls that she can play with for hours. They used to fight with each other but they've learned to get along. Sophie's speech is pretty amazing for her age. At least that's what I'm told. It's all relative to me but again, I get comments on it all the time. From strangers and acquaintances alike. Sophie is very independent and confident. She insists on doing everything on her own.
I just love these two little girls of mine!!
This is about as close as I get to being in pictures with my girls these days! Check me out in Sophie's peepers.

Beautiful girls! Beautiful post!
Beautiful pics and girls! Sophie's eyes are so pretty... Its not an easy thing to capture non-blue eyes...and to get such a great catchlight with it is amazing! The doggie prayer and "pre-K" thing is hilarious. LOVE these little gals. They are growing up too fast. Thank you so much for the update. Missing you guys!!
Did I mention that the last time I was out there, my clients (Eva and Sophie) retained me to be their legal counsel and agent? You owe them $100 for the sitting fee for your photo shoot, and $5 everytime you post one of their pictures. Please send the check to my attention. Thank you.
